How to Reduce the Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation
There are varying reports as to how harmful electromagnetic radiation is since the boom of technology over the last 50 years. The use of wireless devices is now part of everyday life, in coffee shops, underground stations, at home, restaurants – in fact it is harder to find somewhere with no wifi in the Western world. The majority of us have one or more of the following: smart phones, laptops, tablets, microwaves, hairdryers, alarm clocks, radios, television and the list goes on.
Although technology is great, it means we can cook our food, heat our homes, provide important medical diagnostic tests such as X-rays and CT scans and quite literally have the world at our fingertips, however it can have
negative impacts upon our health and environment. All these electrical appliances give off electrical fields. Our exposure to electromagnetic fields has been shown to affect the way our body’s cells communicate with one another, affecting our own ability to function properly. This can result in negative effects on the immune system,
fetal development, central nervous system and the endocrine system (controls and regulates all our hormones).
So, what can you do to help minimize the harmful effects?
Here are a few simple suggestions:
1. Mobile Phones
We depend on our mobiles for pretty much everything; calendars, maps, social media, phone calls, texts, Internet as well as a ton of different apps. The one thing we can do is to ensure as much as possible that our sleep is not affected by electromagnetic
radiation. Most of us sleep with our phone charging by our bed. Try switching your phone to ‘aeroplane mode’ this will turn off any wifi or cellular activity. The most
sensitive part of your body to electromagnetic radiation is the pineal gland. The pineal gland controls all the hormonal balances in your body. One of the most important
hormones it controls is melatonin, which is related to the day or night sleep cycle and to jet lag when we travel by plane.
I tried this a few months ago and found my sleep felt deeper and more refreshing!
2. Household Appliances
This can cover televisions, alarm clocks, computers, cordless phones, hairdryers,
microwaves, ovens etc. Basically anything electrical.
Unless an appliance is unplugged, there will still be some electromagnetic radiation coning from it. Ensure that any electrical appliance is as far away from your bed as possible to ensure a refreshing and peaceful sleep. If you need something relatively near, eg. Your alarm clock try to make sure it is at least 1 meter away (this will help you get out of bed in the morning)!
Try to limit using your microwave as much as possible, if using the microwave do not stand right next to it when it is on, create some distance.
3. Medical Diagnostic Tests
This includes X-rays, CT scans, Mammograms. Obviously these tests are vital,
therefore there are ways to help minimize the effects of any radiation. There have been studies to show that homeopathic medicines have minimized the effects of
radiation.[a][b] A couple of useful homeopathic remedies are:
Radium Bromatum: This remedy is good for the after effects of radiation especially effects of x-ray burns and dermatitis and eczema after radiation exposure.
Homeopathic X-ray: This remedy was made by exposing a vial containing alcohol to X-rays. The alcohol was then potentised and since then has been used for radiation
injuries. This is also a good remedy for people with a history f exposure to X-rays and
For a full prescription you should consult your homeopath.
To minimize the effects of a single exposure to an X-ray, CT scan or Mammogram, I would advise to take either Radium Bromatum or X-ray (not both)-3 hours prior and as soon as possible following. Take a further dose upon waking the following day.
Please tell me if you are aware of any other ways to help reduce electromagnetic
